Every piece starts on the same table.
Evelyn Pinkard sews in Detroit. PinkArt is her studio — dolls, magnets, jewelry and small pieces, made to be kept, not just bought.
How the work gets made
Every doll starts with cotton fabric on the table and no fixed plan. Evelyn works the shape out by hand, one piece at a time, the same way she's worked since she started sewing.
Everything that goes into a piece is natural: 100% wool filling, cotton fabrics, and faces shaped from polymer clay. Nothing is printed. If a seam shows, it's because a person made it.
The studio runs on the same rhythm it always has: make, mend, teach, repeat. Make & takes carry the same weight as the dolls — a table of people, everyone leaving with something they made themselves.

What doesn't change
A short list, held to on every piece.
One of a kind
Made one at a time, never in runs. No two pieces are exactly alike.
Made by hand
Every piece passes through Evelyn's hands start to finish.
